History with the Macy's Parade[]

Ada Twist, the pint-sized scientist from the popular Netflix series, set off on her first adventure down the streets of New York City in the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This balloon version of Ada is as big as her giant-sized curiosity. With a pen tucked behind her left ear and sporting her signature lab coat, Ada showed millions of spectators and viewers the magic of science all around them.

Measuring in at 51-feet tall, 41-feet long and 29-feet wide, the Ada Twist, Scientist balloon is the second-ever African American character balloon to soar down the streets of Manhattan, following in the footsteps of 2002's Little Bill balloon. The pen behind her ear is the length of 27 normal-sized pens.

The Ada Twist, Scientist balloon kicked off the 95th annual march through NYC as the lead balloon, following close behind the Ann Richards Marching Stars from Austin, Texas. While flying along Central Park West, the balloon's head chamber lost a substantial amount of helium, however it was able to complete its march with no major damages.

The balloon returned the following year, again experiencing a loss of helium in its head; it was retired after this appearance.
