History with the Macy's Parade

In 2011, the company's mascot, the Aflac Duck, made is Macy's Parade debut in the form of a balloonicle. This balloonicle featured Aflac wearing a green and red scarf with gold accents riding on a wooden sled. This balloonicle appeared until 2013.

In 2014, Macy's introduced a new Aflac Duck balloonicle. In this version, he is seen sitting on a chunk of ice with a blue scarf, skates and beanie hat, trying his 'wing' as ice-skating. This balloonicle retired after 2016. Despite this, a smaller version of this balloonicle appeared in Macy's Holiday Parade in Seattle.

In 2017, Aflac once again debuted the newest version of the Aflac baloonicle. This version is similar to the previous one, with the exception of him holding a beating heart and him riding on a snow tube. Much like his previous ballonicle counterpart, a smaller version of this balloon also appeared in the Macy's Holiday Parade in Seattle.

In addition to appearing as a balloonicle, Macy's has also produced a special Aflac Duck plush for the Holiday season. A seperate article for these plushies can be read here.
