Amanda Shaw is a Cajun-American fiddler, singer, songwriter, and musician from Mandeville, Louisiana. Nicknamed the Queen of Cajun Country, she began her professional music career in 2011 with her independently released album, I’m Not a Bubble Gum Pop Princess. After releasing a second album, Shaw signed with Rounder Records and produced her first-ever studio album, Pretty Runs Out, in 2006. Since then, she has released several EPs and studio albums, made appearances on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and TODAY,[1] and was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2020.[2]
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Amanda Shaw made her first Parade appearance in 2023 alongside Louisiana country singer Alex Smith on the Celebration Gator float, which features a 60-foot-long animated alligator themed to the spirit of the Louisiana bayou. The duo performed what Louisiana’s lieutenant governor's office called "an energetic and exciting performance”[3] of Smith’s song, “Bootshake.” Members of the Texas Tech Pom Squad also joined in on the performance, providing background choreography.
Before appearing in the Parade, Shaw also performed alongside Brett Young on NBC’s broadcast of the 2023 Fourth of July Fireworks.
