The Baldwinsville High School Marching Bees are the official marching band of Baldwinsville High School in Baldwinsville, New York. Baldwinsville's marching band program gives students an opportunity for growth and enrichment by showing pride, putting hard work and discipline in everything they are taught, and reaching their fullest potential by accepting intellectual, creative and physical challenges. Band members also learn about leadership, discipline, teamwork, responsibility and cooperation.
The Marching Bees are one of the oldest NYSFBC members, first competing in 1974. Baldwinsville's Bees have also participated in many parades in New York, such as Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and out of New York, such as the Tournament of Roses Parade. The Bees believe that, "Every single member is important and critical to the success of the group."
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Baldwinsville Bees made their Parade debut in 2014, where they represented the Macy's Parade's home state by performing "Bagalee" when they reached Herald Square. The students in the band spent all summer rehearsing their selection, according to Savannah Guthrie.
