Frank W. Ballou Senior High School is a public school located in Washington, D.C., United States. Ballou is a part of the District of Columbia Public Schools. The principal is Dr. Willie Jackson (a 1987 alumnus). Their marching band, the "Majestic Marching Knights", is one of the best high school marching bands in the nation's capital. The band is a regular participant in Washington D.C.'s National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, and they have also participated in the Tournament of Roses Parade and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The school's band was the very first of Washington, D.C. to perform at the 2009 Macy's Parade. For the Majestic Knights performance, the band members decided to pay tribute to the beloved "King of Pop", Micheal Jackson (who recently passed away), with some his notable hits, "Thriller" and "Working Day and Night".
