Bert Parks (December 30, 1914 – February 2, 1992) was an American actor, singer, and radio, and television announcer, best known for hosting the annual Miss America telecast from 1955 to 1979.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Parks made his first appearance in the parade in 1950, as a guest star. His next appearance would come seven years later, serving as a host of that year's NBC broadcast.
Parks would make his return to the Macy's parade in 1987, appearing on the Great American Small Dog float. At Herald Square, he would perform "Good Things Come In Small Packages."
