History with the Macy's Parade[]
Betty Thomas first appeared at the 1982 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with her co-star Ed Marinaro from NBC's Hill Street Blues, and together they sang "Side by Side" at Herald Square.
For her second time at the 1985 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, she read a bunch of letters sent from the lucky children on how much they love their pet while riding on The Great American Dog float.
