William Thomas "Bill" Tracy (July 16th, 1916 - August 22nd, 1974) was an American designer who worked at Macy's as one of the designers for the floats used at the Thanksgiving Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Macy's approached Tracy in 1953 about designing and constructing both the Window Displays, and the floats for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
In the Summer of 1963, his studio was closed by the United States government due to Tracy committing tax fraud. As a result, Macy's fired Tracy, and was replaced by Manfred Bass.
