Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Wiki

The Blue Starflakes are a pair of novelty balloons from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade

The Blue Starflakes made their first appearance in the 93rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2019, and are the third variants of the 'starflake' balloon. The duo of balloons featured a simple star-shaped base, with a largely detailed snowflake in the center, with many other smaller snowflakes surrounding it.

On the Tuesday before the Parade, one of the Blue Starflakes appeared on The TODAY Show, alongside the 610 Stompers, The Nice List and the Ronald Reagan High School Marching Band. The aforementioned units appeared throughout the broadcast, and gave viewers a sneak peak of what was to come on Parade day.

The Blue Starflakes made their only appearance in the 2019 Macy's Parade, and were retired shortly thereafter. They were later refurbished into the Santa Starflakes, which are set to debut in the 2021 procession.
