Boss Kids is a child/teen commercial dance team located in New York and New Jersey. The group is managed by artistic director Jona Biddle, under the surname The Jona Show. "Boss" Kids stands for "Born Original Striving Successfully " Kids.[1]
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Boss Kids dance team made their first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance in 2019, appearing and performing alongside the "Universal Playground" float, furnished by Universal Kids. The troupe served as backup to That Girl Lay Lay, who performed a special Thanksgiving freestyle titled "Macy's Day Parade."
Boss Kids returned to the lineup for the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, now appearing alongside the glitzy and glamourous "Rexy in the City" float by luxury company COACH. Members of the dance team performed with large credit cards from the fictious North Pole Bank, complimenting Kim Petras' performance of "I Don't Want It At All," a tongue-in-cheek song about "craving material things and being unashamed to admit it."[2]
The Boss Kids returned for third time in the 2022 Parade, now divided into two groups—the Boss Kids and the Boss Dancers, an over-18 troupe. The Kids performed alongside Jordin Sparks to her then-new single, "Stop This Feeling," on Geoffrey's Dazzling Dance Party by Toys"R"Us. The over-18 group provided backup choreography to Betty Who and her performance of "Blow Out My Candle" on the Her Future Is STEM-Sational float from Olay.
In 2023, the Boss Kids joined Bell Biv DeVoe on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem float to perform their hit single, "Poison."
For their recent appearance at the 2024 Parade, they all donned royal Wonderland armor as they danced to Kylie Cantrall's "Red Christmas" alongside "The Brick-Changer" float from The LEGO Group.
