The Breakfast Clowns are a unit of clowns from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade

The Breakfast Clowns first debuted as float escorts for the "Shine On" float by Jimmy Dean in 2008. After the float was retired in 2010, the escorts were refurbished into a clown group. The group consists of a tableau of ingredients that make up the most important meal of the day, such as sticks of butter, toast and fried eggs on tricycles.

In 2019, a man dressed up as a stick of butter caught the attention of viewers across the nation, making Pastor Donny Willis, a Moss Bluff native, an overnight sensation known as “Butter Man.” Willis went viral after he had several comical run-ins with host, Al Roker, on the NBC Parade telecast.

The butter man sensation took over social media, leading Willis right back to his best pal at the Today Show. "You know, honestly, I just wanted to make people smile that day,” Willis said on the Today Show.
