Collaborative Arts Project 21, known more commonly as CAP21, is a New York City professional musical theatre training conservatory and Off-Broadway theatre company. It has a core faculty with many associate faculty who are also working professionals. The conservatory has produced many Broadway performers, as well as actors in off-Broadway, regional, and international theatre, television, film, and other performance media.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The dancers of CAP21 made their debut at the 82nd Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. But as they was traveling down the parade route with the beloved Andy Williams on Macy's own "Santaland Express", the train broke down which caused their performance to be delayed as the act before Santa's arrival. By the time they made it at Herald Square, CAP21 with Williams sang, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year".
For the company's second time at the 85th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, they danced to the World War II favorite "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" with the three-part harmony group, United We Sing.
CAP21's third time at Macy's would be yet another showstopper as they performed "Dancing in the Street" as part of the opening number at the 91st Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
