The Ambulance is a clown car from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Ambulance clown car made its first Parade appearance in 1983 as a prop for one of the Herald Square acts. For its second appearance in 1984, it was once again used as prop with Soleil Moon Frye riding on it for one of the Herald Square acts. By 1985, the Ambulance would be added to the main parade lineup as The "Funny Bone Medical Team" clown group would later tag along in 1986. The vehicle takes the shape of an ambulance which can transport patients to the care of "Dr. Horsearound" and "Dr. Feelgood". The rear of the float features a bench made to look like a doctor's waiting room. The clown car along with its clown group were retired after the 2012 Parade and it currently sits dormant at the Macy's Float Warehouse.
