The Clown U. Kazoo Band is a clown unit from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Clown Kazoo Band made its first appearance in the 1999 Macy's Parade, featuring participants dressed in toy soldier-inspired marching band outfits (recycled from the 1997-1998 Banner Carrier costumes) playing musical melodies with their kazoos in tow. In 2002, the Clown Kazoo Band marched to the beat of their own drum as they joined the larger-than-life Parade Drums.
The Clown Kazoo Band continued to make on-again, off-again appearances and were last seen in 2015, though they were part of an initial 2016 Parade lineup.[1]
In 2023, the Clown Kazoo Band returned to the Parade lineup with their signature high-note hilarity, donning costumes recycled from the Sour Patch Kids float escorts.
