The Plush Toy floats were floats featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade back in the early 1970's.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Jungle (1970)[]
The first plush toy float made its debut in the 1970 Parade.
Titled the "Jungle," the float's design featured a jungle treehouse that had plush animals of a giraffe; a bear; a bobbing turtle; a red elephant; a snake, and a sleepy lion surrounding it.
The float only made two appearances and it was retired after the 1971 Parade.
Alphabet Blocks (1972)[]
The following year, a new float dubbed the "Alphabet Blocks" made its debut.
Recycled from the previous float, its design featured the plush animals on alphabet block toys.
Leading the float was a toy float of a panda sitting on a alphabet block.
The unit was retired after the 1973 Parade, and most of it was auctioned off during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Auction.
