Darlene Love is an American vocalist and actress. She is most known for being the leader of the girl-group, The Blossoms. Love has been recognized as a vocal powerhouse and, per David Letterman, "The Queen of Christmas," having wrote classic holiday carols Marshmallow World and Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). Her gospel-like voice has been associated as a background voice with the likes of Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, The Righteous Brothers, Dionne Warwick and Marvin Gaye among others.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Darlene Love made her Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in 2006, Where she sang "It's All About Tonight" on Amica Insurance's American Classic Malt Shop float, alongside the Dynamites from the musical Hairspray with background choreography provided by the Broadway Dance Center.

Love returned to make another appearance in the reimagined 2020 Parade, riding atop New York Life's Toy House of Marvelous Milestones float. Love served as a replacement for Broadway star Leslie Odom Jr., who had cancelled his Parade appearance because of concerns of the rising COVID-19 cases in New York City. For her Parade appearance, Love performed a rendition of her classic Christmas hit, "A Marshmallow World".

Love reflected on her appearance in the altered Parade in an interview with NBC Miami, saying "It's interesting because we don't do the full circle anymore. We're not with a lot of people anymore. It takes a minute to get used to it; it's different".
