History with the Macy's Parade

In 2010, some of the infamous "Minions" from the film appeared on and surrounding the Statue of Liberty float. This was in order to promote the movie's release earlier that year. Miranda Cosgrove, who voiced Margot in the film, also appeared alongside the Minions. They weren't seen after this parade.

In 2013, Illumination partnered with Macy's once again to introduce a brand-new float to promote their newest film, Despicable Me 2. The float was called "Despicably Delicious". This float was recycled from a previous American Classic Malt Shop float, and featured Lucy's Bakeshop, with many minions on board, with their leader, Gru standing at the helm of their float. In total, more than 20 Minions, and one purple Minion, marched their way down the route in 2013. This float hasn't been seen since 2013, but it was recycled to the Avocados from Mexico Float: Casa Fresca Café.
