Disney Cruise Line is a cruise line operation that is run by The Walt Disney Company. Since first setting sail in 1997, Disney Cruise Line has provided quintessential family cruise vacations, blending the magic of Disney with the excitement of ocean cruising. Unforgettable onboard experiences are paired with itineraries to sun-drenched destinations of the Caribbean year-round and awe-inspiring seasonal sailings throughout Alaska and Europe. Most Caribbean itineraries also include a stop at Disney's Castaway Cay, an award-winning island in The Bahamas.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Disney Cruise Line was first featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with an all-new balloon of Mickey Mouse, this time as Sailor Mickey in 2009. The six-story tall inflatable featured Mickey Mouse himself sporting his nautically-inspired red, white and blue sailor gear, saluting the crowds as he rides down the Parade route on an anchor. The Sailor Mickey balloon was retired following the 2012 Parade.

For the 2021 Parade, Disney Cruise Line sponsored an all-new float. The imaginatively designed “ship” has been christened “Magic Meets the Sea” and is inspired by the fantastical style of the Disney Wish, which was set to sail in the summer of 2022. The new float showcases the majesty of a Disney Cruise Line vessel and features iconic design elements including a Mickey Mouse-inspired color palette, towering red funnels and an intricate filigree motif along the hull.

The float also spotlighted 15 favorite Disney friends who represent the stories and experiences on board the Disney Wish, including Captain Minnie Mouse, Princess Tiana, Aladdin and Jasmine, Cinderella and more.

The float returned for the 2022 Parade, featuring over nineteen Disney friends including the fabulous five, many princes and princesses, and Marvel's Black Panther and Spider-Man. As the float reached 34th Street, the trio of Captain Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, and Goofy all sung a brand new song - "Seas the Adventure", as a flurry of Confetti and fun filled the air.

The float was gain a facelift in the 2023 parade, where it represented the newest of the vessels, the Disney Treasure, which is planned to set sail in December 2024. The float will set sail to Disney's 100 Years of Wonder, featuring a selection of favorite Disney friends. Once more, the trio of Mickey, Minnie and Goofy sang a brand new song "Let's Set Sail" as another flurry of confetti and streamers completed the full-on cruise package on Herald Square.
