History with the Macy's Parade[]
Dolly first made her debut in the 1975 Parade as she sang "Love is Like a Butterfly" on the iconic Turkey float.
32 years later, she would return to the lineup on Marion-Carole Showboat in the 2007 Parade and performed "Better Get to Livin'".
For the 2020 Virtual Parade, she was originally meant to perform on Cracker Barrel's Home Sweet Home float. But due to rising COVID-19 cases in NYC, the float was only shown through archival footage, and Dolly's performance of "Holly Jolly Christmas" was showcased at her home state of Tennessee.
