Dominick George "Don" Pardo (February 22, 1918 – August 18, 2014) was an American radio and television announcer whose career spanned more than seven decades. He did work for several programs for NBC, including the original run of The Price is Right, Jeopardy, and most notably, the announcer of Saturday Night Live, a job he would hold until his death in 2014.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
When Brad Lachman started producing the NBC telecast of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Don became the announcer, starting with the 1994 parade. The next year in 1995, he would describe the parade route during the pre-show. He would continue to announce the parade until the 1999 parade. The next year in 2000, he would be replaced by Joel Godard.
