History with the Macy's Parade[]

Cassie made her Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in the 2000 Parade, as a means of promotion for the Dragon Tales series which had began airing a year prior to her debut year. Measuring 40 feet tall, 68 feet long and 27.5 feet wide, the Cassie balloon flew from her home of Dragon Land and down the streets of New York City with the help of her wings and 13,600 cubic feet of helium. The balloon featured Cassie timidly waving to the millions of spectators lining the Parade route, with her signature Dragon Charm lighting up, signifying her confidence. The Cassie balloon would make her final Parade appearance in the 2001 Parade, making only two appearances in total.

Although it's retirement, the Cassie balloon would continue to make appearances outside of the Parade. In October 2002, the Cassie balloon was used in a mini-Parade for the grand opening of the Millenia Mall in Central Florida which featured Macy's as one of its anchor stores. The Cassie balloon joined other giants in the sky such as Curious George, the Stars & Stripes Ornaments, Toy Soldier and a White Macy's Star.

In conjunction with the annual run of the Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal Orlando Resort, Macy's help a specialty walk-through exhibit titled Balloonopolis. The once-in-a-lifetime experience allowed park guests to get up close and personal with an array of balloons from the Macy's Parade, which included Cassie, Wild Thing, Pikachu, Woody Woodpecker, Jimmy Neutron and Rocky & Bullwinkle alongside several smaller cold-air inflatables. After the exhibit closed on January 1st, 2006, the Cassie balloon was shipped back to Macy's Parade Studio, and later the Macy's Float Warehouse where it resides today.
