Entenmann's is an American baked goods company that produces various confectionery snacks such as dessert cakes, donuts, cookies, cupcakes, loaf cakes, pies, cereal bars, muffins, Danish pastries, crumb cakes, and buns. In total, over 100 unique products have been created by the company since its inception in 1898. The company was started by William Entenmann who opened his own bakery in Brooklyn, New York. By the 1960's, the company had begun distributing donuts across all of the New York metropolitan area; later selling nationwide starting in 1973. The brand of baked goods is currently owned by Bimbo Bakeries USA.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Entenmann's made their Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in the 2017 Parade, debuting a brand-new float which celebrated the company's upcoming 120th anniversary milestone in 2018. Titled "Everyone's Favorite Bake Shop", the float showcases the fun and enjoyment of baking tasty confections with family and friends, and mirrors a colorful bakery that evokes the fun spirit of the brand

Designed by the artisans and craftsman at the Macy's Parade Studio, the Entenmann's float took over 100 hours to create and required 15 gallons of paint. Children dressed in their winter best peer into the bake shop windows from the front of the float, catching a glimpse at the mouth-watering desserts on display in the bake shop's windows. Busy Entenmann's bakers try their hands at all sorts of new baking techniques to make the sweet treats more fun than ever before; a baker bungees from the ceiling and another mixes a batch of dough with a special pedal-powered mixing machine. Capped off with a cupcake bursting confetti, rotating donuts and a colorful diner where patrons can enjoy their favorite snack, the float is escorted on route to 34th Street by a group of bakers who launch sprinkle confetti to the millions of Parade spectators.

In conjunction with the float's debut, Entenmann's held the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Sweepstakes which gave contestants a chance to win three days and four nights in the city, a set of four Grandstand Tickets to the Parade, and a year’s supply of Entenmann’s Donuts and Little Bites Muffins.

The Entenmann's float made six consecutive appearances in the Parade lineup, and was retired after 2022. It was then dismantled, with the dog seen on the float becoming a decoration at Macy's Parade Studio.[1]
