The Georgia State University Marching Band is the official marching band of Atlanta's Georgia State University. In addition to attending and performing at every Georgia State Panthers home football game, the Panther Band has taken part in many parades and events, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Panther Band made its Macy's Parade debut in 2014. During their debut, not only did they bring the more than 250 students in the marching band, but also the Georgia State Rock Band, which included drumming YouTuber Casey Cooper, also known as COOP3RDRUMM3R, who was the first person in the Parade's history to march through the streets of New York City with a drum kit. The band rocked out with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" for their Herald Square performance.
