The Gingerbread Man (also referred as Gingy) is an anthropomorphic gingerbread cookie from the Shrek franchise. He serves as a supporting character.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

A 44-foot tall Gingy balloon would make his Parade debut in the 2017 edition of Universal's Holiday Parade Featuring Macy's. The balloon featured Gingy wearing a traditional Santa hat, as he carries a surplus of candy buttons and gumdrops down the Parade route.

The Gingy balloon is one of three balloons in the Shrek unit of the Parade, flying high alongside two Dronkey balloons, in addition to three floats and various dancers donning villager apparel.

Between November 14th 2020 and January 3rd 2021, the balloon was on display at Universal's Holiday Experience Featuring Macy's Balloons, a walk-through attraction held in place of the Holiday Parade during the 2020 holiday season.

Gingy returned in the 2021 and 2022 Holiday Parade, leading off the parade's Shrek unit.

Trivia[]

  • Gingy and The Nutcracker are the largest balloons in the Holiday Parade, with both measuring in at 44-feet tall.
