The Green Believe Star is a novelty balloon from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

As part of Macy's then-recently-introduced "Believe" campaign, which was introduced in 2007, a new balloon promoting the campaign would be created for the 2008 Parade. Built and painted by the talented artists at the Macy's Parade Studio, the balloon is depicted as as a green variant of the many star-shaped elements featured over the years. The balloon is also notable for being the first balloon to promote the "Believe" campaign. Following a successful test flight at that Balloonfest 2008, the balloon would join the Red Macy's Stars as they accompanied Santa's Sleigh down Broadway for the final time.

For the Green Star's sophomore appearance in 2009, the Red Macy's Stars that previously accompanied were replaced by a red variant of the "Believe" Stars, and the three balloons together would wrap up the line of march alongside the newly-redesigned Santa's Sleigh float.

The Green "Believe" Star was retired following its third time escorting the jolly white-bearded, fat man in the red suit himself in 2010. Since 2011, its red counterparts would traditionally follow the Santa's Sleigh float on their own.
