The Half-Baked Holiday Sweets are a clown unit from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

The Half-Baked Holiday Sweets debuted as the sweetest clowns around in the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The unit featured Bakers adding a pinch of love and a dash of laughter to bring their tasty creations—including Cherry Pies, Sugar Cookies, Cinnamon Rolls, and Chocolate Chip Cookies—to life.

In 2013, a batch of Chefs, Cupcakes, and Gingerbread Cookies joined the delicious delegation. The Half-Baked Delivery Truck (added to the unit in 2016) gave the group a sweet ride for delivering holiday happiness. Cookie Engineers joined the group in 2018, keeping the sweets on the right track.

The Half-Baked Holiday Sweets made a scaled-down appearance for the 2020 Parade. Despite being filmed for the reimagined event, they were not featured on the NBC telecast nor the Verizon livestream. The unit made its most recent appearance in 2023, where Bakers from the then-recently-retired Entenmann's float joined in the fun.

Trivia[]

  • The Half-Baked Holiday Sweets are one of few clown units made up entirely of recycled costumes. The Bakers were recycled from the Peppy-Roni Pizza Clown costumes (which were themselves recycled from the Hershey float escort costumes); the Cherry Pies, Sugar Cookies, Cinnamon Rolls, and Chocolate Chip Cookies were recycled from the Pillsbury float; the Chefs, Cupcakes, and Gingerbread Cookies were recycled from the Morton Salt float; the Cookie Engineers were recycled from the Domino Sugar float; and the other Bakers were recycled from the Entenmann's float.
