The Herald Square Express was a float from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Herald Square Express made its only appearance in the 1932 Parade. Built around a vehicle, the float evokes the look of a steam engine bustling down Broadway with bunches of bright balloons. Santa Claus, in a novel twist, kicked off the procession on the train that year, signifying the only time that Kris Kringle has not been featured on the final float.
