The Hi-Roller Skating Clowns are a group of clowns from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade

The Hi-Roller Skating Clowns made their debut in the 2005 Macy's Parade, leading the famed holiday spectacle from Central Park West all the way down to Macy's 34th Street department store. The clown group carried the legacy of the Skating Clowns whom had appeared from the mid-1970s up until 2001. The group of laugh-lovers all donned zany clown outfits in the Parade's signature colors of blue, red and yellow, in addition to carrying bunches of bright balloons.

Throughout the next decade, the Hi-Roller Skating Clowns would become Parade favorites, often times performing stunts as they made their way down the Parade route.

Following the 2016 Parade, the original design of the clown group was retired, and given a refresh for 2017. The newly-refurbished clown group featured festive holiday sweaters in green, red and blue, which had previously been used by Stagedoor Manor for their 2012 Parade performance. Much of the novelty of their previous incarnation remained, including the roller skates and balloon bouquets. The costumes for the former Hi-Roller Skating Clowns were recycled into the newly-introduced versions of the Toy Blocks.

The Hi-Roller Skating Clowns were permanently retired following the 2018 Parade, and were replaced by the Corny-Copia Clowns, with their costumes being recycled into the another unit known as the Funny Flurry Clowns.
