Jeffrey Koons is an American artist known for working with popular culture subjects and his reproductions of banal objects, such as balloon animals produced in stainless steel with mirror-finish surfaces. He lives and works in both New York City and his hometown of York, Pennsylvania.

History with the Macy's Parade

In 2007, Jeff Koons teamed with Macy's to produce a balloon based on one of his creations, Rabbit, in the 81st Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as the second balloon in the Blue Sky Gallery. The balloon featured Rabbit in his normal pose, holding a silver carrot. This balloon only appeared in 2007, and is very unlikely to return.

Incidents

In 2007, the wind caused Rabbit to come very close to crashing into the crowd.
