Jimmy Dean Foods is a food enterprise founded in 1969 by the singer and actor with which it shares its name, and currently owned by Hillshire Brands.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Jimmy Dean made its Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in the 2008 Parade, represented by an all-new float. Titled "Shine On," the float represents the promise of a new day and a delicious Jimmy Dean breakfast. Featuring a giant plate centerpiece that rises to meet a new day, the "Shine On" float serves up the scene of an energized morning. From the setting crescent moon and twinkling stars to the brilliant rising sun (recycled from the Oklahoma Rising! float), the colorful float completes the morning ritual with some delicious and satisfying breakfast foods.

Float escorts dressed as toast, sticks of butter and eggs riding tricycles reminded Parade spectators most important meal of the day as beams of sunlight emanate from larger-than-life teacups.

The "Shine On" float made three consecutive appearances in the lineup, and was retired shortly after the 2010 Macy's Parade. Following its retirement, the float was dismantled and disposed of, with a teacup remaining in the Macy's Parade Studio as a decoration until 2013.

The float escort costumes were refurbished into the Breakfast Clowns, who would debut in the 2011 Parade. Alarm clock costumes from the float were also be added to the Sleepy Clowns unit that same year.
