Joel Clinton Godard, Jr. (born March 31st, 1938) is an American television announcer and voiceover artist, best known as the announcer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien during its entire 16-year run from 1993 to 2009.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Godard became the official announcer for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade's NBC telecast in 2000, he replaced previous announcer, Don Pardo. His job as parade announcer was to give the TV audience at home, a heads up on everything coming up next on the NBC telecast such as celebrities and Giant Character Balloons. He would continue as parade announcer for over a decade until 2010. Les Marshak would later obtain his position in 2011.
