Katharine McPhee is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She first rose to fame as the runner-up on the fifth season of American idol in May of 2006. Her self-titled debut album had sold over 381,00 copies (as of December, 2010) with more success from her follow-up albums including Unbroken, Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You, Hysteria, and I Fall in Love Too Easily. Throughout her acting career, she co-starred in The House Bunny, NBC's Smash, and CBS's Scorpion. In 2021, McPhee and her husband David Foster competed in season six of The Masked Singer as "Banana Split" in which McPhee dressed up as the ice cream half who did all the singing and Foster dressed up as the banana half who did the instrument playing and conducting. They both got 3rd Place.

Katharine first sang one of her singles "Had It All" on the Shine On! float by Jimmy Dean during the 2009 Macy's Parade.
She is now set to return to the lineup with her husband David Foster on the Heartwarming Holiday Countdown float by Hallmark Channel in the 2023 Parade.
