Lego (stylized as LEGO) is a line of plastic construction toys that are manufactured by The Lego Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company's flagship product, Lego, consists of colorful interlocking plastic bricks accompanying an array of gears, figurines called minifigures, and various other parts. Lego pieces can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct objects; vehicles, buildings, and working robots. Anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces used to make other objects.

History with the Macy's Parade

In 2002, as part of their 70th-anniversary celebrations, LEGO debuted a brand-new float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The float was entitled "Carousel of Imagination", and dre inspiration from the imagination and creativity that Lego brought to millions of children worldwide. In the middle, a fantastical carousel revolves with not horses; but LEGO brick creations of a monkey, a fish, a crab, a seahorse, a robot and a construction vehicle, all while Pepper Roni from the LEGO Island video game franchise does tricks on a LEGO halfpipe. The float was retired after the 2004 Parade, and is unlikely to make any more appearances.

Over a decade after the company's last association with the Parade, the LEGO group will debut a brand-new float in the 2019 Parade, entitled "The Brick-Changer". The float gives spectators a glimpse at the LEGO Group has inspired creativity in children for over 90 years. Accompanied by the Free Build Team, the Brick-Changer - part turkey, part dragon - transforms a blank canvas of LEGO bricks into a whimsical, bustling city that is bursting with color.
