Largest Balloons in the Parade

Old Man Dragon, who made only one appearance in 1929, is the longest documented balloon in Parade history, measuring in at 178-feet in length.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade features an array of inflatable characters that measure several stories tall. While some balloons (notably novelties/heritage balloons), only stand at a story or two tall, other balloons have measured upwards of 100 feet in both length and height. Listed below are the known largest balloons that have appeared in the Macy's Parade over the years.

To be eligible for this list, the balloon must be at least one of the following; 68 feet in height, 77 feet in length or 39 feet in width.
