Lauren Alaina is an American vocalist, songwriter and actress who hails from Rossville, Georgia. She released her debut studio album, Wildflower, in October 2011 after becoming the runner-up on season 10 of American Idol. Alaina's storytelling abilities were later shown off in her second studio album, Road Less Traveled, which later won Alaina her first No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart with the album's title track. She once again topped the charts with former classmate Kane Brown with their duet, "What Ifs".

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Lauren Alaina made her Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in the 2017 Parade, appearing and performing on the then brand-new Harvest in the Valley float from Green Giant. Before appearing in the Parade, Alaina was interviewed by The TODAY Show weatherman and Parade host Al Roker, in which Alaina states excitedly, "this is one of my best Thanksgivings yet, and it's only just beginning!"[1]

For her appearance on the NBC Parade telecast, Alaina performed a rendition of her sing, "Doin' Fine".

Alaina returned to the Parade's line of march for the reimagined 2020 Parade, now appearing aboard South Dakota Department of Tourism's Mount Rushmore's American Pride float. She performed her recently-released single, "Run".

Alaina's Thanksgiving appearance was pre-recorded on Tuesday, November 24th, 2020, as COVID-19 restrictions caused the Parade to be broken up and filmed over the course of three days. Other performers that appeared for Tuesday's filming include fellow country star Brett Young, Sofia Carson and Ally Brooke.
