Lea Michele is an American actress, singer and songwriter. A former child actor and TV star of musical series Glee, Michele is also known as a recording artist and best-selling author (Brunette Ambition and You First). Her solo music career includes her 2014 powerhouse debut Louder, which notched a Top 5 position on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release, the uplifting tunes of 2017's Places, and 2019's holiday album Christmas in the City.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Lea Michele made her Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in 2007, riding off the success of her leading role in the Broadway musical, Spring Awakening. Michele appeared alongside her co-star, Johnathan Groff, as they both rode down the streets of Manhattan on the "M&M's On Broadway" float, which paid tribute to the Great White Way with the colorful candy characters.
Groth and Michele further celebrated Broadway with a performance in front of Macy's Herald Square, with a rendition of the anthem, "Give My Regards to Broadway".
Lea Michele returned to the lineup for the 2019 Macy's Parade, now a well-established solo artist and actress. For her second Parade appearance, Lea Michele appeared and performed on Macy's own "Central Park" float, which recreated a quintessential New York experience with a snow-covered Gothic Bridge and ice skating rink.
Michele performed a track from her then-recently-released Christmas album, Christmas in the City, titled "Christmas in New York". Members of the Manhattan Youth Ballet provided whimsical choreography to accompany the festive number as they rung in the holiday season.
Michele returned once again in 2022 as part of the cast of Broadway's Funny Girl as she opens the broadcast by performing a show-stopping rendition of "Don't Rain On My Parade".
