Les Marshak (born July 7, 1948) is an American voiceover artist and announcer, best known for his work on NBC promos and its seasonal events.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Marshak became the official announcer for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2011. His job as parade announcer is to give the TV audience at home, a heads up on everything coming up next on the NBC telecast such as celebrities and Giant Character Balloons. He would return as announcer for every Thanksgiving Parade since then.
For the Parade's 90th Anniversary in 2016, Marshak did a "face reveal" after the cast of the Broadway musical Holiday Inn's performance, which marked a historic moment in the parade's history as the first time an announcer has shown their face.
