Leslie Odom Jr. is an American actor and singer. Odom is renowned and best known for his Tony Award- and Grammy Award-winning role as Aaron Burr in Broadway's Hamilton. However, the singer, actor and performer calls music his first love. He has showcased the versatile range of his powerhouse voice on his self-titled solo debut album, which earned praise from The New York Times and hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Jazz Albums chart. For the 2017 holiday season, Odom updated his 2016 album, Simply Christmas.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Leslie Odom Jr. made his first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance in 2017, performing and making a special appearance on the iconic 1-2-3 Sesame Street Float, which brought the famous Sesame Street brownstone to the streets of NYC. Joining Odom for his debut appearance were the cast members and Muppets from the children's educational television series, Sesame Street.

For Odom's performance on the Parade's NBC broadcast, he would join the Sesame Street cast in performing a special song named "We Come Together," which explores all the different ways to unite in fun activities.

Odom was originally planned to return to the lineup for the reimagined 2020 Parade, where he was to make an appearance on the Toy House of Marvelous Milestones Float from insurance agency New York Life. Due to rising cases of COVID-19 throughout the New York area in November of that year, Odom withdrew his appearance in the Parade. He later released a statement on his Instagram account, stating that he would be "playing it safe for the health and well being of the most precious to me. No parade for me tomorrow."[1]
