The Macy's Pride Star Array is a septet of novelty balloons painted to the colors of the Pride flag.

History with the Macy's Parade

The Macy's Pride Star Array made its first appearance in the 2005 New York City Pride March. The multi-balloon unit features seven stars of crimson red, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, representing the rainbow colors Pride flag. The balloons would later appear in that year's edition of Macy's Holiday Parade at Universal Orlando Resort. Sometime between 2006 and 2007, the crimson red star was removed from the unit.

The balloons would appear in the two processions concurrently until 2008 when the balloons were retired from the Holiday Parade. Despite this, they would continue to appear annually in the Pride March until 2012 and were later replaced by the Red Macy's Star Array. These balloons were last confirmed to exist in 2016.

A brand-new version of the Pride Stars was introduced at the 2018 Pride March alongside the new "Pride + Joy" float, now using the updated Macy's star balloon pattern. The balloons were most recently seen in the 2019 Pride March.

Due to the cancellation of the NYC Pride March in June 2020, the Pride Stars are scheduled to appear in the re-imagined 2020 Parade, reminding viewers that love is always something to be thankful for.
