Michael Feinstein is an American singer, pianist, and music revivalist. He is an interpreter of and an anthropologist and archivist for the repertoire known as the Great American Songbook. In 1988 he won a Drama Desk Special Award for celebrating American musical theatre songs. Feinstein is also a multi-platinum-selling, five-time Grammy-nominated recording artist. He currently serves as Artistic Director for The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Michael Feinstein made his Parade debut in the 66th Annual Macy's Parade on The Doodlebug as he performed "The Ugly Bug Ball". Ten years later, he would sing a jazzy rendition of "Pure Imagination" on The LEGO Group's "Carousel of Imagination" float during the 2002 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
He would instantly become a regular for performing at Macy's such as in 2005, when he sang an original song by Willian Schermerhorn titled "My Gift of Thanks" with The Highbridge Voices on The Cornucopia float.
By the 2007 Parade. he did a duet with Anika Noni Rose as they sang "Give Me The Key to This Wonderful City" on History Channel's "New York Tin Toy" float.
For his most recent appearance in 2011, he sang "Jolly Dream Pirates" from his album The Sinatra Project, Vol. 2: The Good Life while taking a ride on The Jolly Polly Pirate Ship float.
