My Princess Academy was a virtual online princess world operated by Almar Sales Company, a wholesaler of beauty and hair accessories.[1] The website, created for girls ages three to seven, empowered girls to discover and embrace the key virtues of their inner princess: generosity, intelligence, beauty, and confidence. The website allowed guests to create their own princess avatar, decorate a princess room, and play games and activities. The website was shut down in 2016.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

My Princess Academy made its first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance in 2008, with an all-new float named Castle of Dreams. The castle was a sparkling vision of purple and pink, covered in more than 230,000 individual flecks of glitter and rising three stories. Topped with waving flags, the four guiding pillars that define true Princesses—generosity, intelligence, beauty, and confidence—were on display with enchanted pets from the virtual online world on top.

Princess Skylar, the founder of My Princess Academy, and many little Princesses embellished the float and encouraged little girls to be their best selves. The Castle of Dreams float made three consecutive appearances, and was retired following the 2010 Parade. The float’s chassis was later used for the Frozen Fall Fun float in 2011.[2]
