The Parade Pedicab is a specialty unit from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

The Parade Pedicab made its first appearance in the 2006 Macy's Parade. The specialty unit was designed by Joel Naprstek and featured the Parade's logo and color scheme, with a special star-shaped hood ornament as a tribute to Macy's famous five-point logo. The Pedicab was briefly retired after this appearance, but was brought back in 2009 to give a special lift to Rose Syracuse, who was at the time Macy's longest-running employee.

The Parade Pedicab made a reprise appearance in 2010, with Grandma the Clown of the Big Apple Circus making an appearance in it. The following year, it served as a prop for a dramatic moment on NBC's broadcast of the Parade. In it, host Al Roker is taken hostage by a group of Moogers upon arriving to 34th Street in the Parade Pedicab, only to be saved by the brave Power Rangers Samurai.

In 2015, the Pedicab returned once again to provide a lift to Roseann Levy, a Macy's volunteer who was celebrating her 60th parade, who appeared alongside Parade Director Amy Kule at the head of the lineup.

The Parade Pedicab made its most recent appearance during Celine Dion's 2019 performance, which was pre-recorded in the Macy's Parade Studio among a number of other balloons and floats.
