History with the Macy's Parade[]
Pat Sajak began hosting the NBC coverage of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1984. He would be the "Uptown Host" of that year, being joined by Stepfanie Kramer as they gave viewers small showings of the balloons at the starting line. Pat would take the role of the main host the following year, with uptown hosts taking his spot being Phylicia Rashad and Bert Convy. Pat would be the main host for the final time in 1986, being once again joined by Stepfanie. Willard Scott would serve as his replacement starting in 1987, a role he held until after the 1997 Parade.
