The Red Macy's Stars are novelty balloons from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade

The dynamic duo of red stars first appeared in 2002, bringing up the rear behind Santa's Sleigh. They also traveled to Universal Orlando Resort to appear in the Macy's Holiday Parade in 2006. These stars only appeared in the 2006 and 2007 versions of the holiday parade, before being replaced by the Green Macy's Stars. They continued to make appearances in the main Parade until 2008 when they were joined by the Green "Believe" Star. The following year, the red stars were replaced by the Red "Believe" Stars, who frequently bookend the procession to this day.

Despite no longer being in the actual parade, they still have a huge impact on the parade, and have since been used in various Macy's Parade posters and advertisements, and smaller versions of these balloons have also appeared as decorations for the Macy's Parade Studio and a few other occasions. Most recently, they were seen alongside Little Cloud at a Macy's Fashion Show in L.A.
