Scrooge is a 1970 musical film adapted from Charles Dickens' 1843 story A Christmas Carol. It was directed by Ronald Neame and starred Albert Finney as Ebenezer Scrooge.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
In the summer of 1970, the Radio City Music Hall reached a deal with Macy's to make a float inspired by the movie for that year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Designed by Manfred Bass, the float's design was based on the main sequence from the motion picture.
Appearing on the float were members of The Geoffrey Ballet Company, and the Music Hall's famous Rockettes.
The float was retired after that year's procession.
Seven years later in 1977, the float was auctioned off at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Auction.
