Sebastián Yatra is a Colombian singer who is well-known for his fusion of romantic ballads, Latin pop, and reggaetón. He rose to prominence in Latin America in 2016 when he achieved breakout success with his single "Traicionera", followed by "Robarte un Beso" featuring Carlos Vives. "Traicionera" served as the lead single for his 2018 debut album, Mantra, which also featured the single "Sutra", featuring Puerto Rican rapper Dalmata. He then released the album Fantasía including the lead single "Un Año" featuring Mexican band Reik. He received continued success collaborating with Daddy Yankee, Natti Natasha, and the Jonas Brothers on the bilingual single "Runaway". Sebastian’s most recent album, Dharma, is certified five-times Latin Platinum by the RIAA, earned him his first Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album, and debuted at No. 1 on the Global and U.S. Spotify Debut Charts. Beyond his chart-topping success, Sebastian showcased his versatility by performing the Oscar-nominated song "Dos Oruguitas" at the 94th Academy Awards. As he prepares to make his Broadway debut in Chicago, the longest-running show on Broadway, Sebastian continues to solidify his status as a global powerhouse.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
Sebastián Yatra's first involvement with Macy's was during the 2020 ritual Parade, when he was originally meant to perform on The LEGO Group's Brick-Changer float. But due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, he had to drop out and his spot was given to the Goo Goo Dolls.
However, he will now make his official debut at the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and he will host a special performance with a holiday choir comprised of Macy’s colleagues with members from Big Brothers Big Sisters on the Winter Wonderland in Central Park float.
