Shirley Jones is an American actress and singer. In her six decades in show business, she has starred as wholesome characters in a number of musical films, such as "Oklahoma!" (1955), "Carousel" (1956), and "The Music Man" (1962). She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing a vengeful prostitute in "Elmer Gantry" (1960). She played the lead role of Shirley Partridge, the widowed mother of five children, in the musical situation-comedy television series "The Partridge Family" (1970–1974), which co-starred her real-life stepson, David Cassidy, son of Jack Cassidy.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Jones made her first earliest appearance in the 1960 Parade riding on on the Mexican Fiesta float from her starring movie Pepe.

Her second trip down the down was with fellow actor Jack Cassidy on the Carousel float in the 1968 Parade.

For her third time in the 60th Anniversary Parade, she rode on the Christmas Wagon and sang "Let There Be Peace on Earth".

Her latest appearance was during the 70th Anniversary Parade as she with AMC hosts Bob Dorian and Nick Clooney took a ride on the "Salute to Movie Musicals" float. She would sing "Oh, a What Beautiful Mornin" from the Broadway musical Oklahoma!.
