The Snowman was a float from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
History with the Macy's Parade[]
The Snowman made his Macy's Parade debut in 1948. He was an original Macy's character that starred on his own miniature float, decked out in a tall black top hat, a light blue scarf, and warm winter mittens and boots with snowflakes on them. He was also joined by six girls in winter outfits. With a pipe in his mouth and a broomstick in his hand, the Snowman happily waved to every spectator that loves winter.
The Snowman would instantly become a Parade favorite, and would continue to make appearances until 1951, when it was retired.
