The Soaring Spirit Canoe is a float that appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

The Soaring Spirit Canoe made it's debut in the 1986 Parade. The float featured an Indian canoe that peddled down the parade route, an eagle head on the canoe and native American dancers that danced along the parade route. The float became a parade favourite lasting over 16 years before being initially retired after the 2001 Parade. The float would make a brief comeback in 2005 but was permanently retired after that parade. The float still survives at the float warehouse as of 2021 and is one of the oldest floats that still exists.
