Susan Lucci is an actress best known for portraying Erica Kay on ABC’s daytime drama All My Children. The role earned her the title of “Daytime’s Leading Lady” and 21 Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, only winning once in 1999 after a decade of significant media attention regarding her status as a perpetual nominee. Lucci has appeared in other television series such as Dallas and Saturday Night Live in addition to acting on stage.

History with the Macy's Parade[]

Lucci appeared in the 1999 Parade to promote her upcoming role as Annie Oakley (replacing Bernadette Peters) in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun on Broadway.[1] She rode on the Tom Turkey float as an ambassador for Hunger-Free Holiday, which partnered with the float’s sponsor, macyparade.com, to fill the country’s food banks for the holidays.

Al Roker interviewed Lucci in a segment filmed on Central Park West before Parade step-off, where she reflected thankfulness for her first Macy’s Parade, her Broadway debut, and her first Emmy.[2]
